OOOPS!

I forgot to include Sarah and Hunter when I was talking about how much I enjoyed having everyone out at the Lake!!! Sarah has volunteered out at the Lake for many years and this year Scott and Hunter came out to see what it was all about. Hunter stayed the night with us and assisted everyone on the Fishing Boat! It truly was a great year!

STAY OFF THE ROADS!! - Bradley got his Permit

Bradley was a very Happy young man on Saturday! His mother took him and he passed the test and came home with his Permit to drive! Scary - they are growing up so fast!!!

We are very proud of him and I have a feeling he is going to want to go with me to the grocery store - (So he can drive)

June 13, 2009 - Emmalee's first haircut!

Emmalee was such a big girl, we got up early this morning and went in to see Mercy to have Emmalee's hair cut.  I thought it was time to get some shape to it, she had pieces that were really long.  She was hesitant to climb up into the chair... but once she was in the chair she did great!
Getting the cape on
Wetting down her hair!
Deciding what to do!
The first cut!!! (yes, I saved it!)
Mirror, Mirror On the Wall - Emmalee is the fairest of them all!
This isn't so bad Mommy!
Look how long these pieces are!
Time for blow drying!
Look!!
Emmalee hugging Mercy and thanking her for cutting her hair (and the peanut butter cookie)

She was amazing! She looks so cute!

Love always - Us!

Emmalee at Play

Emmalee sure loves to play!  She makes us all kind of delicious imaginary treats in her play kitchen, she takes wonderful care of all of her babies.  She loves playing outside.  She wants to take her babies everywhere.  I caught her with her baby "Emma" jumping on the trampoline and giving her love.  Here are some pictures of little "Em" and "Emma"

Emmalee loves to go play on the slides and swing at the playground at Field Elementary school!  She really likes it when her brother Bradley and her cousin Jenna take her and play with her.

We are having a terrific summer so far enjoying the beautiful Arizona weather (actually the weather has been terrific we have had temps in the 90's - which is unusually love for June)  We hope you are having a fabulous summer!
Love - all of us!

Day on the Lake 2009

St. Joe's hosted the 13th Annual "Day on the Lake" on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th. I have volunteered for this program for 11 years and this year I was involved through the whole process, now that I work for St. Joe's Recreation Therapy Department. It was really neat to see it from all sides!!! I truly enjoyed having Rob, Brad, Jodie, Larry and Jenna all there volunteering! And it was great having Sarah and Hunter there also!!!! Sharing the experience was very rewarding. On Saturday Mom, Dad and Emmalee came to check out the event. For further info see my sisters blog at ustwogirls (see the link to the right).

More to come on Day on the Lake.

The Mighty, The Fine, The class of 2009!

I am a very proud Mom and Step Mom, but on Thursday, May 21, 2009 I was a very proud Mom - well Step Mom that is! Joshua was 1 of 809 graduates from Mountain View High School. It has been a very challenging three years but Josh did it! He Graduated!!!! And his Dad and I could not have been more proud. It was a very strange night as it was raining which is not the normal weather for May in Arizona. So family and friends sat in the bleachers under umbrella's while different people spoke, the High School Band and Choir played and 809 Seniors received their diploma's. Papa Jim, Nana Phyllis, Grandma Rosemary, Grandpa Al, Rob, Brad, Jenna, Sarah, Hunter, Emmalee and I watched and cheered. Grandma Rosemary and Grandpa Al (dressed for warm weather) sitting under their umbrellaJosh getting his diploma and shaking hands with a school representative.

Josh returning to his seat!

I think my favorite part of the whole evening was when we were all yelling "Yeah Josh!!! Way to Go" Emmalee yelled "Yeah Tator Tot!" - Josh calls her a Tator Tot so she calls him her "Big Tator Tot" It was really cute!

Josh - I hope you know how proud we are of you and we wish you the best of luck in whatever you do! You are an amazing young man and will go far if you just beleive in yourself!! May your dreams come true!

Love always, Dad, Jill, Brad, Emmalee, Papa Jim, Nana, Grandma Rosemary, Grandpa Al, Aunt Jodie, Jenna, James, Larry, Aunt Sarah and Hunter

Big Girl Potty!

Sorry, I don't have any wonderful pictures to show but I do want to share with all who read our blog! Emmalee has decided it is time to be a big girl and go Pee Pee and poo poo on the big girl potty! She stayed home with Papa Jim and Aunt Jodie on Monday and Tuesday of last week because two of Ms. Wendy's (her sitter) daughters had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease and we thought it would be best if she stayed home as to try to avoid her getting it...... We think we succeeded but we did end up with high fevers on Wed and Thurs which meant Mommy stayed home with her! So since Tuesday (almost 6 whole days) Emmalee has been using the big girl potty and wearing "Pull ups". She has also become little miss independent - she doesn't need you to go with her (or want you to for that matter). She has gone in her diaper at night but wakes up and wants it changed!!! She has only had one episode that I am aware of where she went pee pee in her pull up and that was this evening and I think she just got too excited and didn't want to leave the attention! = ) Regardless, I am a very PROUD Mommy! I know she really wants to wear the big girl underwear and so do I!
Love Jill and family!

Look a Lizard!

We had a lizard come and visit us on our patio and Emmalee wanted to hold it, her brother Bradley would not pick it up so her Mommy did!  I placed it on Emmalee's hand and she just looked at it and smiled!!!
She really did not want to put it down!!!  Emmalee was such a big girl and thought it was really neat to hold the lizard!

Emmalee helped me place the lizard on the ground and when it didn't move she was worried so she stepped at it.... and it ran!

Love always! Jill and Family!

Special Delivery from Grandma Rosemary and Grandpa Al

Emmalee received a special package from LA.  She enjoyed opening up all the neat things she got.

Then there were clothes, clothes and more adorable clothes... Emmalee tried to wear 3 or 4 of them in one day!  She truly is becoming a girly girl!
Then there was the candy - flower lollipops and an Easter Egg with Jelly beans!
Finally a book!
Thank you Grandma Rosemary and Grandpa Al for all my wonderful presents
Love Emmalee (and family)

Ouch! My Nose

Emmalee got hit in the nose with a toy and she had a red line down the right side of her nose!  It looked worse than it was!
