Happy Anniversary Papa Jim and Nana!!! (belated)

February 21, 2009 - Forty Four years, 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren later....

Papa Jim and Nana Phyllis got married (with permission from Grandma Margaret, yes Papa Jim had to have his Mom give permission) forty four years ago. They have had their ups and downs but they have made it look easy most of the time! Thanks for being you! We hope you have/had a terrific day filled with lots of love and togetherness!!! We love you! Thank you for all you do for me and my family!!!

My Poor Baby!

Emmalee broke out into a small rash last weekend but it just continued to get worse.  I took her to the doctor on Tuesday when the rash was just on her tummy and her back with a little on her legs and our doctor said she has the hives...

He said we have no idea why she has them and not to try and figure it out because it would just end up driving me crazy.

Well, Emmalee stayed home with Papa Jim yesterday and the rash ended up spreading to her face, arms and legs!  She looks miserable but acted fine.  Last night her legs started itching her but she is doing good!  Just thought I would share.

Emmalee spent today playing with many different things!  We colored and glued colorful pom poms on to our pictures, then we played with our "Aquadoodle" which Emmalee received for Christmas from Aunt Sarah, Uncle Scott and Hunter!!!  I even got down on the floor and colored with her.  The Aquadoodle has a mat and a pin, you fill the pin with water and as you color on the mat with the wet tip of the pin it creates a picture.  As the mat dries the picture disappears!  Emmalee really had fun with it!

Happy Valentines Day 2009!

We had a wonderful day with lots of Chocolate and some strawberries!

Aunt Jodie and I made Chocolate covered strawberries for desert.  I received a dozen beautiful roses from my honey - (For Arizona Statehood Day, since we don't celebrate Valentines day!) Emmalee and I delivered goodies to our valentines. Papa Jim, Nana and Aunt Jodie had dinner with us and we received a plate full of Goodies from Aunt Sarah and Hunter - they were delicious!!!

Making Valentines Day Treats!

Emmalee and I decided we should make some goodies for Valentines Day so we made some Chocolate Chip cookies which also had heart sprinkles and then we made 48 cupcakes with pink frosting and fiesta frosting!  We also made some Valentines and then we shared with our neighbors, Miss Wendy and her family, Aunt Sarah & Hunter, and Papa Jim, Nana, Aunt Jodie, Jenna, Josh, Brad and Daddy!

We had lots of fun and Emmalee became very independent and didn't want help with anything!!!  Emmalee cracked the eggs and stirred the mixture.  She then decided she was going to fill the cupcake paper all by herself - that one was for Daddy!!!

Arizona Science Center

Aunt Jodie, Jenna, Aunt Sarah, Hunter, Emmalee and I went to the Arizona Science Center! We have had some strange weather here and had to find some place inside to spend the day. First we decided to experience nature! We went onto a stage and learned about Nature - Thunder and Lightening storms, tornado's, hurricanes, forest fires, volcanoes, and earth quakes.Emmalee was not sure what she was doing but she really enjoyed pushing the buttons and seeing that when she did something happened.Emmalee was learning how nature affects rocks and sediment!!!
Then we went into the Digital World!Jenna, Hunter and Emmalee are standing behind a screen and their shadows are catching the colorful sand (?) that is falling down - see more below!This is what you see from the front!Then they played with a camera that allowed you to change - distort your picture! Even the big kids joined in!!
Emmalee then played with a digital form of music... as she walked under the light it would play music - if the light beam was not broken - it remained quiet!Then we went into the music room and learned about vibrations - Emmalee was not strong enough to push down the billows but she sure tried!Where there's Lego's there's Emmalee!Let's see whose more relaxed..... you placed a head band on your head and it read your brain waves and who ever was more relaxed would win!!! We found out it wasn't working correctly!Emmalee wanted to play against Mommy!Hunter walking on the balance walk - to demonstrate how the inner ear works with balance.Jenna is playing on an activity that shows when a color is written in another color you normally say the color not the word.... Green, Red, Blue, Yellow - If the words are upside down and you are not reading the word you are more likely to say the correct color!

Emmalee still crawls out on the plexi glass - after she tests to see if it is there!

Emmalee has her Daddy's sweet tooth! She LOVES CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!! She was enjoying it so much she did not want me to wash it off of her hands!!!!

Bouncing with the Big Girls

Friday night Jenna had one of her girlfriends stay the night! They decided to go jump on the Trampoline and Emmalee thought she was part of the party! Jenna and Danny (Danielle) were very good with her and played with her! They were all bounced out!

Mommies BIG helper!!!!

Emmalee loves to help do what ever it is you are doing! I have made a couple of new dishes this week and Emmalee has wanted to help me cook.... so we get her stool, wash her hands and she helps me!!! She is a big helper!!! She said to me "When I get big I can make this all by myself! She amazes me more and more every day!!!!

Swinging, Sliding, and playing at the school playground.

Emmalee really enjoys going to the play ground and playing on all of the play ground equipment. We have the elementary school and Junior High 2 blocks South of our house so we walk up there and play. She is venturing out to the bigger and faster slides! She even likes to swing in the big girl swing! We have practiced legs out, legs in, legs out - "no more legs Mommy" She is definatly my daughter - She loves to CLIMB!!!! CLIMB!!! and CLIMB!!!!
